It has been an exciting month for us working on a range of projects that are getting very close to ignition point.
One of those has been working on a project with Tourism Dunedin and getting to know the team there. I've seen energy in a workplace achieve some truly exciting new ground and the Tourism Dunedin office has it in spades. They're also a fun team to work with – you can visit their Facebook page here.
We have been working on a new project called Dunedin Light, which will be a weekly photography report on the surf, lifestyle and culture of the city's beaches and coastline. It felt a bit weird working on this last week when we had snow down to sea-level, but the day before I had the chance to surf some waves right on the city's edge that were only 15°C short of Indonesian perfection. Luckily my Rip Curl F-Bomb suit makes short work of the cold.
My mate Justin Leov (see above) returned home for a short stint before returning to Europe to race the last two DH World Cups in France, then Italy and the DH World Championships in Switzerland. We managed to get a few sessions together to make some of my favourite images from the month – right in our backyard on some very cool Dunedin trails. Check those images out here.

How We Shot It
This panoramic shot of Cromwell surrounded by snow-capped mountains was made with a Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L lens set at 57mm. We used a shutter speed of 30 seconds at f7.1 to allow a good depth-of-field. The Canon Eos 5D MkII was mounted on a tripod and the mirror locked up for each of the five exposures we used in this final panorama. We combined the captures in Photoshop to render this seamless image, which ended up being 240MB in size and fit for a very large banner. To light the scene we used a large reflector mounted in space ... otherwise known as the moon.
