Keep this world for my children ...
How good do we have it? No wars of consequence, no plagues, no rampant dictators with power to reign. Sure, we struggle with widespread consumerism (and the dread from some that it might end), but life is magical for our generations. I can climb a mountain with my children and not because I am escaping. I can swim in an ocean that’s almost completely free of pollution. I can walk through a door, sit down in a cramped seat and walk back out that door in a country only three meals away on the other side of the world. I can get lost in native bushland and I can ride my bike between massifs in an impossible landscape. And I can sit and watch as life unfolds and respect my role as simply observing. In my own backyard I can enjoy the first beats of a butterfly’s crinkled wings. We owe it to ourselves to take time to sit back and appreciate what we have before us. Please keep it this way for my children.
